Object  NGC 6559
Info

NGC 6559 is located in the constellation of Sagittarius. It is probably associated with the better known M8 & M20 nebula complex, but separated by dark dust lanes. The over all red hue is due to glowing hydrogen gas energised by the radiation of hot young stars. The blue region is from dust reflected starlight. The dust is also
evident by the many odd shaped dark lanes and isolated patches. It is approximately 5,000 L.y. away.

Notes/ Conditions

Conditions- On the 11th I only had enough time to get 5 luminance frames. Conditions were average and then cloud moved in. On the 15th, I had a break in the clouds and managed to get another 7 luminance frames in before the the skies opened up and rained heavily. On the18th taking the colour channels, I setup and was forced to shut things down as cloud came in. By 11.30pm the clouds cleared but thunder and lightening was all around to the south and west with cloud threatening to the north west. The wind was blowing into the dome aperture from the east. I could only safely get what I did before being  forced to shut down. A huge thunder and lightening storm hit 20 minutes after shut down. Object @ 80degs. Moon @75.5 % phase.

Both the rgb sets and lum have been 'drizzle combined' coefficient resampled to 120% in IRIS.
