| Info |
NGC 6188 is located in the constellation of Ara. It lies in a rich part of the Milky Way south of Scorpius. This image only shows the heart of the nebulous star forming area. It extends far greater in wide field images. Like IC 1275 and NGC 6559 nebula complex in Scorpius, NGC 6188 also is a rich star forming region, as is evident from the glowing hydrogen gas. This object lies approximately 4400 L.y. away. |

| Notes/ Conditions |
Conditions- I tried imaging this object on the 28th but conditions either in the upper atmosphere or due to the heavy dew would not permit a clear view. On the 29th, I began imaging the luminance and find the conditions were very much similar to the night before. I persevered trying to take the colour channels. It was only halfway through the green that conditions improved substantially. I then redid my colour channels and decided to combine them as luminance. Object at 50degs. altitude. Both the rgb sets and lum have been 'drizzle combined' coefficient resampled to 120% in IRIS. |
