| Info |
NGC 6164- 5 is a 'Bipolar' Nebula emission. situated in the southern constellation of Norma, close to the border of Ara. The bright central star catalogue no. HD 148937 is an 'O' type 7f star being much younger than typical type 'O' stars. It is embedded in extremely young wind-blown interstellar (IS) bubble which is predominantly made up of HII gas. The age of this emission is determined by the lack of oxygen there in and is recently found to represent a 'shell like' ejected nebula, formed by the winds of its young central star. These type of nebula are considered the outcome of Wolf-Rayet type stars. This objects distance is 4200 l.ys away. |
